Connecting and disconnecting a WinGate VPN
WinGate VPN connections can be started and terminated on the VPN Panel, located in the Monitoring section of the WinGate Management console.
Connecting to a VPN
Once you have configured the VPN Client to join the hosted VPN by importing the configuration file from the VPN Host server, then you can connect to the VPN.
Read the instructions for joining a VPN
To connect to a VPN :
- Open the WinGate Management console.
- Navigate to Monitoring > VPN

On the VPN panel, right-click on the VPN that you have configured to join and select Connect from the options menu. Once the VPN has connected successfully the remotely hosted VPN will appear in the VPN panel.
Disconnecting from a VPN
To disconnect from a VPN:

On the VPN panel right click on the VPN that you are currently connected to.
- Select Disconnect from... the options menu.
Note
If you are administering the VPN from the Master Node machine, then you have the control to disconnect any VPN Client Node that has joined the VPN.
Even if the affected VPN Client has the Reconnect option checked in their Joining properties they will not automatically reconnect. The Reconnect option is normally used to automatically reconnect the VPN Client Node to the VPN if the connection is disrupted for some unforseen reason.
