Managing Active Directory users and groups in WinGate
When WinGate has been configured to use the Active Directory user database, the user and groups will be displayed in the Users and Groups panel, located at Control Panel > Users and Groups in the WinGate Management console. Since WinGate only queries the Active Directory user database, all normal network/domain administration of users and groups (such as setting passwords and group membership) is still managed from the Domain controller (via the Active Directory users and computers MMC).
WinGate specific properties
The WinGate specific properties for each user (found on the Users and Groups panel) have been designed so that WinGate modules can provide each user with an appropriate WinGate configuration tab(s). For example, WinGate Mail will populate each users properties with an Email tab, where you can configure the users WinGate Mail mailbox if required.
You can access the WinGate specific user properties by:
- Open the WinGate Management console.
- Navigate to Control Panel > Users and Groups.
- On the Users and Groups panel, double click on the user or group you wish to configure. This will open up the WinGate specific properties for that user or group.
