Logging into the WinGate Management console
Once you have configured WinGate to use the Active Directory user database, you can utilize its structure of users and groups to implement security throughout WinGate using WinGate permissions and Policy system.
By default the Permissions system grants full control to all features and interfaces in the WinGate Management console, to any member of the Administrators group (regardless of the user database selected for WinGate) . This means that after you have chosen the Active Directory connector, you will need the credentials of a user who is a member of the Administrators group in the Active Directory in order to log into the WinGate Management console and administrate WinGate.
Active Directory user login
When you open the WinGate Management console you are presented with the Login information dialog so you can enter your credentials.
When WinGate is using an Active Directory user database, the Login information dialog differs slightly by including a Domain field. This is so you can enter the User name and Active Directory domain in their respective fields. Alternatively you can simply enter the User name in the Active directory user name format (e.g. joeblogs@example.com ) without having to specify the Active Directory domain in the Domain field.
