The Send Mail event processor allows you to configure an appropriate email that should be sent whenever a selected event occurs. This is useful when you want to be alerted that a particular event has taken place, or when you require an email containing relevant event data to be sent to someone at the time the event happens.
e.g. If someone makes a proxy request to the WWW Proxy server, send an email to the administrator with the contents of the request (event data).
The Send Mail event processor properties allow you to insert relevant event data directly into the body of the configured email that is to be sent. Through using the Symbol Browser you can also access any predefined global strings that you have created in the WinGate Data system, for use in the email address details etc.
In this example the addresses are using global data strings which have been preconfigured with the administrators address and the address for the System alerts. Similarly event data has been used in the body of the email to display the details of an application request from a particular IP address.
