Policy panel
The Policy panel, located at Control Panel > Policy in the WinGate Management console, lists all currently configured policies in WinGate.
The Policy panel allows you to add, edit, duplicate, or disable a selected policy using the right click options menu, or by selecting the corresponding option from the Tasks menu. You can also import or export policies from this panel as required.
Policies that do not have an event currently assigned to them will appear in gray.
Preview/Info pane
When you select a policy on the Policy panel, the Preview pane will open to display the flow chart structure of the selected policy.
This pane provides the current processing statistics for the policy, that can also be seen when viewing the worksheet in the policy editor.
The Info pane displays any notes that have been written when configuring the policy with the policy editor.
Note
Renaming policies
You can rename a particular policy on the Policies tab by left clicking in the Policy field of a selected policy.
Events tab
The Events tab lists all events that the Policy system has discovered from the Events system in WinGate. It lists the Source that registered the event, and what policy the event is currently assigned to.
Events that appear in gray are currently not assigned to any policies.
You can edit the policy associated the event by right clicking on the selected event and choosing Edit associated policy from the options menu. Similarly you can assign an event to a policy, or reassign it to different policy, by right clicking on the selected event and selecting the Assign policy option.
Note
If you are reassigning the event to a new policy, you must hook the event policy item into the policy flow chart of the new policy, before it will be assigned to that policy. Once this is done, the policy that the event was previously assigned to, will now appear gray on the Policy panel.
