The Automatic Updates tab found in the WinGate Update Settings, allows you to configure the schedule of when and how WinGate will check and perform upgrades automatically.

Close
By default the WinGate Update system is scheduled to check and perform automatic updates once a day after installation. Automatic updating can be configured (and disabled if required) from this tab.

Update schedule
The WinGate Update system allows you to configure when it should check for updates from the WinGate Update server. Clicking the options button
in this section will open up the properties for the Check for Updates scheduled event, so you can specify when this event should occur (Please refer to the Scheduled Events help for more information on configuring scheduled events).
When this update check occurs, the WinGate Update system will check and perform updates according to the settings defined here on the Automatic Updates tab.
Critical updates
When an update is released by the WinGate Update server, it will be marked as either critical or non critical depending on what bugs, issues etc. it fixes. By default the WinGate Update system will download critical updates from the WinGate Update server as part of automatic updates.
Non Critical updates
Non critical updates are usually updates that provide improvements and fixes to WinGate, but are not deemed to be critical for installation. By default the WinGate Update system is set to download non-critical updates as part of automatic updates.
Note
If you deselect one (or both) of the Download automatically options, then the WinGate Update system will simply check for the availability of those types of updates (critical or non-critical) with the WinGate Update server, and advertise them as being available for download in the WinGate Update panel.
Automatic install settings
When either of the Install automatically options in the Critical and Non critical updates sections are selected, then the Automatic install settings section allows you to control whether the WinGate Engine should be shutdown and restarted, or whether the WinGate server is allowed to reboot after the update has been installed (if it is required).
