POP3 Collection service
WinGate Mail can be configured to collect mail from remote POP3 mail servers periodically, and utilize the SMTP Delivery service to redistribute it to local mailboxes or an alternative location if required. This functionality is provided by the POP3 Collection service.
You can configure remote accounts that the POP3 Collection service should collect mail from on the Collection tab, located at Monitoring > Email in the WinGate Management console.
In order for WinGate to be able to perform POP3 collection, the POP3 Collection service must be installed and started. If the POP3 Collection service is not installed, then there will be an option to install it on the Collection tab when you open it.
POP3 Collection service properties
The POP3 Collection service properties can be accessed from the Services panel, located at Control Panel > Services in the WinGate Management console.
The properties provide you with the ability to determine how the POP3 Collection service will use any available network gateways on the WinGate Server to collect mail from the remote POP3 accounts. It also allows you to specify connection and logging options if required.
