All mailboxes hosted by WinGate are now stored in a mailbox volume to allow for easier maintenance and management. The volume will increase in size depending on the amount of mail delivered to all the mailboxes in the volume. When using a WinGate Enterprise license, you can create as many mailbox volumes as you need in any desired location on disk.
The use of multiple mailbox volumes is only available with a WinGate Enterprise license. When using any other type of WinGate license, you can still create more then one mailbox volume, but only the volume set as the default will be able to be used (i.e. Receive mail for the mailboxes it contains).
Mailbox volumes can be created and edited on the Mailboxes tab, located at Monitoring > Email of the WinGate Management console. From here you can perform any mailbox volume management you require. A single mail volume is created by default to accommodate WinGate mailboxes after installation. This volume can be edited or deleted if required.
Each volume you create will display its size and the amount of mailboxes it contains. You can set which volume is the default volume, by right clicking on the desired volume and selecting Set as default from the context menu.
Setting a volume to the default means that any new mailboxes that are created in WinGate, will be placed automatically into that volume.
Mailboxes can be easily transferred amongst mail volumes as required.
