Managing the HTTP Cache
The HTTP Cache has been designed to be a low maintenance system, that will perform scheduled purging depending on how it is configured. Controls on the HTTP Cache panel allow you to create, edit, and delete the volume(s) in use by the cache.
You can set specific properties for the entire HTTP Cache using the Cache settings configuration found on the HTTP Cache panel.
The Cache settings configuration lets you set default serving options for the HTTP Cache and the order in which volumes will be used. You can also specify purge and cache cleaning rules. In WinGate 7 you can also specify an alternative System DSN that the HTTP Cache should use to connect to the database that contains the index locations for the volume in use by the cache.
To open the Cache settings:
- Open the WinGate Management console.
- Navigate to Control Panel > HTTP Cache.
- On the HTTP Cache panel right click and select Cache Settings from the menu.
