Managing Logging
Logging panel
The Logging panel, located in the Control Panel of the WinGate Management console, is a centralized place to manage the WinGate Logging system. All sources of logging and the logs they provide information to, can be configured on the Log Files and Sources tabs found on the Logging panel.
Logging settings
The WinGate Logging system has been designed to be easy to maintain. All log files will be rolled over for archiving according to a single schedule that can be set in the Logging Settings available on the Tasks menu when you are at the Logging panel. Archived log files can be kept for a certain number of days in their saved location before being deleted in a log file clean up by the Logging system.
Viewing log files
You can examine any current, or archived log files by selecting them from the Log Files pane on the Log Files tab of the Logging panel. The contents of the log file will be displayed in the Log file viewer at the bottom of the Log Files tab. The viewer allows you to navigate line by line through the selected log file for easy analysis. Alternatively you can open a log file with a suitable viewing application at the location the where it is saved.
