Logging panel
The Logging panel, located at Control Panel > Logging in the WinGate Management console, provides a central place for you to view and configure the settings for logging and examine the current logs and log files that have been created.
The Logging panel is made up of two tabs:
-
The Log Files tab is where you can configure the active logs, and view the current and previous log files they have generated. The Log Files tab consists of three different panes:
-
Logs
The Logs pane lists all of the current logs that have been created in WinGate. Each log on the list represents the configuration where you can set the format and location where the resulting log file will be saved. Diagnostic logging sources on the Sources tab of the Logging panel can be configured to provide information to a particular log (and the resulting log file) as required. Highlighting a log in this pane will list all of the available log files that it has created in the Log Files pane.

Log Files
The Log Files pane will list all of the log files that have been generated by the current log that has been selected in the Logs pane. A new log file is generated by the log whenever the logs have been scheduled to rollover. Selecting a particular log file from this list will display the contents of that particular log file in the Log File Detail pane.

Log File Detail
The Log File Detail pane displays the contents of the currently selected log file in the Log Files pane. This pane will show line by line, the data being logged. Double clicking on a line of data will open the Log file viewer that allows you to navigate back and forth through the log entries.
-
The Sources tab lists all of the WinGate modules and components that have registered themselves with the Logging system and are available to provide data for logging.
Clicking on a Source will open the properties for that source, allowing you to set what level of information it will provide to the log, and what log (log file) it should provide this information to.
