Mail Collection - Account

The Mail Collection Account tab allows you to configure the connection details WinGate Mail will use for collecting mail from a specific remote POP3 server.

It is accessed by adding or editing a mail account on the Collection tab of the Email panel, located at Monitoring > Email in the WinGate Management console.

Check account every ? minutes

This allows you to check how often mail collection from this remote POP3 account will be performed.

Account details

Here is where you enter the account details that are required for WinGate to collect mail from the remote POP3 server.

Server requires secure connection (SSL)

WinGate will connect to the specified server using SSL.

Use secure connection if supported by server (TLS)

WinGate will connect to the specified server using TLS.

Method

By default, WinGate discovers the best method of authentication that the remote server supports. In some cases however, a mail server may not correctly advertise supported methods.

In these instances, it may be necessary to instruct WinGate to use a specific method from the list below:

  1. USER/PASS
  2. SASL PLAIN
  3. APOP
  4. CRAM-MD5
  5. NTLM

Message deletion

Leave all mail on server

This will require the manual deletion of all mail periodically.

Delete mail on server only if it can be delivered

Check this option if you want to ensure mail has been successfully delivered to the account holder before it can be deleted from the server.

Delete mail from server regardless

Check this option if you want to delete mail from the server, even if it has not been successfully delivered to the account holder.
