Event items
When using the policy editor to configure the structure of a policy, the event (or compatible events) you have chosen to base the policy on will be shown under the Events section of the policy editor toolbox.
Using event items
Since the policy has to be triggered by the occurrence of the chosen event, you must always begin the policy flow chart on the worksheet with an event item(s). Simply drag the required event item(s) to the worksheet and connect it to the first policy item that will be processed when the event takes place. As shown in the example below.
Whenever you place an event item on to the worksheet, that is known as assigning the event to the policy.
Note
Simply placing the event item on the worksheet will not create a functional flow chart. Other policy items must be connected in sequence from the event, for them to be processed when the event takes place.

Compatible events
The Policy system allows you to create policies based on events that have compatible features. These are known as compatible events. When a policy is based on compatible events, all of the compatible event policy items will be available inside the one policy editor, allowing you to select some or all of them to be included in the policy flow chart.
