Specific Mappings
The Mappings tab, found in the properties of UDP and TCP mapping services, allows you to specify where the connection will be mapped to. This can be based on the user associated with the connection or the location where they make the connection from.
To add a specific mapping
- Open the WinGate Management console.
- Navigate to Control Panel > Services.
- On the Services panel open the Mapping service properties, or install a new TCP or UDP Mapping service.
- On the Mapping service properties, select the Mappings tab.
- Click the Add button to specify a new mapping, this will open the specific Mapping properties.
- On the Mapping tab, enter the Server and port that the specific mapping will link to. If you are creating a specific TCP Mapping then you can choose the Use SSL/TLS connection option to have the link use SSL when it connects to the remote server. This option is NOT available when configuring a specific UDP mapping.
- On either the User or Location tabs, specify the user or location where they are connecting from (Depending on how you wish the mapping to be implemented).
- Click OK to add the mapping. This will now be listed in the Mappings pane of the Mappings tab.
Note
Each specific mapping you add will override the Default Mapping destination that has been set on the General tab of the mapping service properties.
