Dashboard management

Creating Dashboards

You can create new dashboards as you require so meters and switches can be grouped appropriately on their own dashboard.

To create a dashboard:

  1. Open the WinGate Management console.
  2. Navigate to Monitoring > Dashboard.
  3. Select New dashboard from the Tasks menu in the Navigation panel. This will insert a blank dashboard into the Dashboard panel.
  4. Select Design from the Tasks menu to put the new dashboard into Design mode, so you can configure and add items to the dashboard. In Design mode you can edit the overall settings for this particular dashboard (including its name and appearance).
License restriction:

The amount of dashboards you can create and use is dependent on the type of WinGate license that you have:

  • Standard license

Only one dashboard. Importing and exporting of dashboards unavailable.

  • Professional license

Two dashboards. The importing of any more dashboards will result in them being disabled when they are added to the WinGate Management console.

  • Enterprise license

    Unlimited dashboards.

Importing and Exporting dashboards

Each individual dashboard that you create can be exported to a file and reimported into another WinGate installation if required. This is convenient when you wish to standardize the look and content of dashboards across a number of WinGate installations.

To export a dashboard:

  1. Open the WinGate Management console.
  2. Navigate to Monitoring > Dashboard.
  3. Select Export dashboard(s) from the Tasks menu in the Navigation panel. This will bring up the Select dashboards dialog.
  4. Choose which dashboard you want to export. If you want to choose more then one, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking to select multiple dashboards.
  5. Clicking OK will provide the Save as dialog where you can save the resulting file (with a .wgdashboard extension)

To import a dashboard:

  1. Open the WinGate Management console.
  2. Navigate to Monitoring > Dashboard.
  3. Select Import dashboard(s) from the Tasks menu in the Navigation panel. This will bring up the locator dialog where you can select the .wgdashboard file that you will be importing.
  4. Click OK to import the selected dashboard.
License restriction: The importing and exporting of dashboards is only available when using a WinGate Professional or Enterprise license.
