Controlling Winsock Redirector Service events
Like other network services, the Winsock Redirector Service will register a number of events that can take place during its operation with the WinGate Events system.
The WRS will register the following events:
-
WRS:ClientConnect
This event takes place when the application first makes a connection to the Winsock Redirector Service.
-
WRS:ApplicationLoad
This event takes place when applications on a client machine running the WGIC, are loaded with the Winsock Redirector Service and make their first network connection through WinGate. When a policy is based on this event the WRS makes available the Application Control policy item that you can use to control WGIC applications that attempt to make connections through WinGate.
-
WRS:ApplicationConnection
This event occurs whenever an WGIC client application attempts to make a connection to a remote location through the Winsock Redirector Service.
These events will then be available to any WinGate event processor to handle whenever they occur. As with other events, the WinGate Policy system (an event processor) provides a range of powerful tools to help manage WGIC applications when they make connections through WinGate.
