Navigation Tree
The Navigation Tree (also referred to as the Navigation Panel) in the WinGate Management console, allows for easy access to the user interface configurations registered by each module that is loaded in WinGate.
It uses a tree menu so you can navigate to the relevant interfaces and administrational configurations when you need.
The Navigation panel divides the tree into four distinct sections:
-
Monitoring
This is where all the visual monitoring interfaces can be located. These include the Activity panel, Timeline, Dashboard, and VPN panel where the relevant activity can be viewed and controlled in real time.
-
Web Access Control
This section allows you to configure how URLs and web sites requested by users will be handled by WinGate, through the use of content classification and access rules.
-
Control Panel
The Control Panel contains all of the administrative configurations for each relevant module that WinGate has loaded.
-
Utilities
The Utilities section contains several management utilities for the overall management of WinGate.
Navigation tree content
The appearance of items in the Navigation Tree is dependent on two factors:
-
Loaded modules
Modules are responsible for registering and providing their relevant user interfaces in the WinGate Management console. If they are not loaded, they will not appear on the Navigation panel.

WinGate Permissions
The WinGate Permissions system allows you to assign permissions to users and groups so they can access features, user interfaces, and dialogs etc. When users log into the WinGate Management console, they will only be able to see and access components based on what permissions they have.
