Administration on the Activity panel

When you are viewing client activity on the Activity panel, you can perform a limited range of administrational tasks. These can be accessed by right clicking on a users session in the Client Activity pane of the Activity panel to open the context sensitive menu.

Description

Pause activity updates

This option allows administrators to freeze the display of activities in the activity screen.

View by Service

This option displays all the activities grouped by service name. It only appears as a selection item when the View by Machine option is currently selected.

View by Machine

This option displays all the activities grouped by computer. It is the default selection and only appears as a selection item when the View by Service option is currently selected.

Copy URL to clipboard

This option allows the Administrator to copy the selected URL from the activity screen into the clipboard. Pasting this URL into a browser will show the Administrator that page or resource.

Terminate all sessions on...

This option will terminate the current activity of a user/machine as it is displayed on the Activity tab. It will not however, stop or block the client from attempting to reconnect to the Internet after their current session has been terminated.

Blackhole IP...

This option allows for an administrator to add the specified IP address to the WinGate IP Blackhole list found in the ENS configuration, located in the Control Panel of the WinGate Management console.

Send message to...

This option is only available when you right click on a WinGate Management connection in the Activity panel (i.e. a user who has logged into this WinGate installation using the WinGate Management console). A message window will appear, allowing you to enter a short message to send to the user.

This message will then appear in a message window on their WinGate Management console, allowing them to reply if needed.

Properties

This option displays several properties and connection details of the computer selected.

You can use basic Full-Text Searches against the page title and body to find matching articles. Use the following search modifiers to refine your query:

  • event management (no quotes) will find all pages containing the words "event" OR "management"
  • "event management" (with quotes) will find all pages containing the phrase "event management"
  • +event -management will find all pages containing the word "event", AND NOT the word "management"
